Good evening friends, it's so wonderful to connect with you at this time. My absence for the day and half is not intentional, it is as the spirit led me. Let us quickly look at the message for the day, 'the unseen battles'.
The Bible reading for today comes from Numbers 22-23, and the memory verse is Numbers 23:21, I will paraphrase it, it says, "I have not beheld iniquity in Jacob neither have I seen perverseness in Israel. The Lord is with him and the cry of the king is among him."
The story in the Bible reading for today is an interesting one. The children of Israel as they moved, after taking over the Amorites'kingdom continued moving and camped in Moab, Balak the son Ziphor in seeing them got worked up and sent for Prophet Balaam to come and curse the children of Israel so that he(Balak) will fight them and chase them out of the land. The Prophet refused to honor Balak's call but upon Balak's insistence God told Balaam to go with them but must do whatever the Lord commands him. Prophet Balaam finally answered the call the Lord stopped him on his way and reemphasised that he must do whatever the Lord command. Balak was very excited at seeing Balaam, very ready to go to war against Israel. Balaam ordered him to set up seven alters, which he did and Balaam set to officiate in his office as the prophet of the Lord, the Lord ordered him to bless the people, Balak was disappointed and insist they perform the sacrifice again but in another place, Balaam agreed, the exercise was repeated, same result till the third time, same result.
The Israelites did not know that their existence in the camp at Moab was discomforting to Balak that Balak had to engage the services of Balaam to curse them. Although the Israelites see their situation at that point as discomforting yet Balak could not sleep.
We are most times in the situation that Israel found themselves and yet we say God is not answering our prayers. If we can see the unseen battles the Lord fight for us we will understand why we must obey Him.
I pray and urge you my readers to take some time and praise God for the unseen battles He fights for us.
Till I come your way again, remain blessed.
