OBEYING GOD'S COMMANDMENT

Good morning people of God. How are you doing today? I pray that all be well with you.  Our Bible passage today is from Numbers 17:1-end and our memory verse is from Deuteronomy 28:13 "And the Lord shall make thee the head, and not the tail, and thou shalt be above only, and not be beneath: if that thou Harken unto the commandments of the Lord thy God, which I command thee this day, to observe and to do them." Obeying God's commandments remains our ticket to living a fulfilled life, how much of God's commandments are you obeying?
The Bible passage for today is the story of how God confirmed to the children of Israel that Aaron was called by Him and with that God put an end to the murmuring of the people. You may wonder why did the children of Israel had to murmur to the extent that God had to prove to them that He chose Aaron? It is because they did not trust God. Trust breeds absolute obedience. You can only obey whom you trust. Moses trusted God, when God asked him to use the rod in his hands on the red sea, he obeyed and did as God commanded him, the red sea parted and the people walked on dry land in the middle of the sea and the Egyptian that came after them were swallowed by the sea, was that no being above? When God commanded Abraham to sacrifice his promised son Isaac, he obeyed and that singular act made him the father of faith. Today we as Christians claims Abraham's blessings, is that not being above?  When God commanded Joshua to surround the wall of Jericho and sound the trumpet instead of shooting a bazooka, Joshua obeyed God and the wall of Jericho came down, is that not being above?
We can see from all the instances mentioned that the command most times is not the expected command thinking logically but obedience to that command brings unimaginable success.
The word of God says that God's ways are not our ways, that is why instead of paying back evil with evil, God commands us to pay back evil with good and went further to explain that when we do so we are only putting coal of fire on the one who did evil to us, we may ask how?
In this new year, can we trust God and obey His commandments and watch our situation change for the best? God is the only one who sees the end from the beginning, yes He gave us brain so we can reason and be smart but that doesn't mean we know it all. The earlier we begin to depend on God's wisdom by obeying His commandments the better our lives will become .
Till I come your way again, remain blessed.
