Good morning people of God, its another beautiful day the Lord has made, we must rejoice and be glad in it. You must have realized by now that we are on a Biblical journey. In this journey we will be uncovering the nature of the God we serve through the encounters of the faithfuls as recorded in the Bible. We will also draw life lessons that will guide us in becoming better children of God in all ramification.
The Bible reading for today is from Numbers 26:1-end and our memory verse is from Numbers 25:65 "For the Lord said of them, 'They shall die in the wilderness.' There was not a man of them except Caleb the son of Jephunneh and Joshua the son of Nun." Our memory verse clearly states that the Lord said that they shall die in the wilderness and they all died except Caleb and Joshua.
If you have been reading from me, you will remember the story in the post titled 'KNOWING THE MAGNITUDE OF YOUR STRUGGLE'. It is the story of the spies sent by Moses to go spy the promised land. They went and saw that all that was said about the land was true but they had an evil report which states that the inhabitants of the promised land are mighty and giants and the children of Israel are like ants before them, so it will be difficult for the Israelites to displace the inhabitants. On the other hand Caleb and Joshua said otherwise because they knew that with God they will overcome and possess the land Numbers 13:30. The evil report stirred up the people that they considered raising a leader to take them back to Egypt. They murmured against the Lord, their murmuring kindled God's anger, God told Moses that He will wipe them off the earth and raise a nation through Moses, Moses pleaded on the people's behalf , God heard the pleas of Moses but insisted that the people will not enter the promised land only their children.
In today's reading, we see God fulfilling His word, the Lord asked Moses and Eleazar to take census of the people from age Twenty and above, they did and the people numbered Six Hundred and One Thousand, Seven Hundred and Fifty men. Remember that when they were numbered in the wilderness, they were about Six Hundred Thousand, now here in the plains of Moab they are also Six Hundred and One Thousand.
The point am lead to make here is that, assuming God needed at least Six Hundred thousand men to carry out the Take-Over project of the promised land, He had it when He asked Moses to send men to spy the land, the men lost faith in God and got scared at sighting the Anaks. Forty years later, God raised another Six Hundred Thousand men who eventually carried out the project.
What has God laid in your heart to do? Have you started doing it? What are you waiting for? In so many cases God commands us to do a task, instead of getting started, we rather start analyzing the task and in doing so, we begin to identify challenges and before you know it the challenges you have observed takes a better part of you and you withdraw and never attend to the task. Then weeks or months later, you see someone doing the task and prospering and you feel like flogging yourself. If you have ever found yourself in such situation, today's message is for you.
The reality is that at different points the Lord gives people task, these tasks will challenge our personal strength, our faith in God, and as well in tackling the challenges make us wiser and stronger in faith. Until you attend to the task and have the experience you will never become that wise and strong man and prosperity demands wisdom and strength.
Our God can use any body to accomplish a purpose, so consider yourself privileged to be used by God and get onto the task and watch God celebrate you.
Till i come your way, remain blessed.
