Good morning people of God, its a privilege to see the end of January 2019. A lot of people started the month but are not alive to see the end of the month, we are here in the land of the living witnessing the end of January 2019. The daily message from God on this blog is One Month old today and by the grace of God it is has been wonderful and insightful. I want to quickly appreciate my readers and encourage you to never give up on God for everything may fail you but God never fails. I also want to encourage you my readers to bring forward your own contributions and understanding for the word of God says iron sharpeneth iron.
Today's Bible reading is from the book of Numbers 36:1-end and coincidentally this is the last chapter of the book of Numbers. Our memory verse is from Numbers 36:7 "So shall no inheritance of the Israelites be transfered from tribe to tribe, for every one of the Israelites shall cling to the inheritance of the tribe of his fathers."
The story in our bible reading today is a re-visitation of the story of the daughters of Zelophehad, we remember in Numbers 26 how the daughters of Zelophehad approached Moses asking if their father's inability to have male children will make him loose his inheritance. Moses inquired of the Lord and the Lord said the daughters should have their father's inheritance. Here in the passage for today's reading, the kinsmen of Zelophehad brought a petition before Moses saying that the Lord instructed that the land owned by our brother Zelophehad be given to his daughters, but if they marry from another tribe, the land will go with them to the tribe into which they marry, In this way, the total area of our tribal land will be reduced. Moses acknowledged that the brothers of Zelophehad were right and according to the word of God commanded that the daughters of Zelophehad are free to marry whosoever they want but it must be within the tribe of their father.
It is one thing to receive from God an inheritance, its another thing to keep the inheritance, be accountable for it and pass it on to the right person/custodian.
What is an inheritance? An inheritance is a permanent valuable possession or blessing received without purchase. In our bible story the inheritance in question is land, as children of God our inheritance starts with salvation, virtues, goodness and ends with eternal life with God. Just like our memory verse clearly states these inheritance is not to be transfered from tribe to tribe, it is to remain within the tribe. In life there exists different tribe, the tribe of the lion of Judah and the tribe of Lucifer. And divine inheritance can be transfered through communing with people of other tribe by friendship or marriage, once this relationship is established transfer of inheritance is very easy, little wonder the bible says in 2Corinthians 6:14, we should not be unequally yoked with unbelievers.
Our God does not engage Himself in an unprofitable business, He guards His own jealously and He expects us His children to do the same. For that which we have received from Him we must keep in tact. Our attitude and association must be in form so that we don't transfer our divine inheritance to another tribe.
Till i come your way again, remain blessed.
