I could not believe myself on realizing that i have not updated my blog since July. All the same, its good to be back. I have been on a journey into the Social Enterprise space far away in India and it has been filled with so much reflections. I will be bringing those reflections on board soon.
Today, i want to reflect on; 'the road-blocks on the way!' No journey is void of obstacles, discouragements and exhaustion. I had a very wonderful and simply put, a stress-free childhood, this did last till my undergraduate days. On getting admitted into the University, life was beginning to mean stress to me. First, is the rigorous admission process, second, is settling into your new environment and making friends, the list is endless. Amidst all these, my parents got into a fight and never reconciled that matter till date. I was left with taking care of myself and my siblings, this was my first road-block. I succeeded in continuing my studies whilst i cater for my siblings. After school comes job hunting and the fact that there are limited job opportunities becomes a road-block to my actualizing my dream, that was my second road-block. I finally got a job, pay check does not adequately take care of my bills, should i continue with the job hoping for a better placement in future or should i quit? That was my third road-block. The road-blocks are numerous.
One thing i have always used as the antidote for road-blocks is 'learning the new ways of handling a challenge.' The earlier i faced my fears, the better i became in defining my purpose. This is evident in my project tittle "ALL NIGERIAN SCHOOLS READERS' DRAMA LEAGUE (ANSREAD LEAGUE)." It has been piloted in four Unity colleges in Abuja and in the coming year will be rolling out in the Hundred and Four (104) Unity colleges in Nigeria.
I will be bringing you updates form ASREAD henceforth..............Watch out!!!
